52 Ovation by Silverton Inaugurates New Yacht Series
Millville, New Jersey. An entirely new product concept in luxury cruising makes its debut in late summer with the 52 Ovation, first in a series of prestige yachts manufactured by Silver ton Marine Corporation.
According to Mike Usina, Vice President Sales & Marketing: “The Ovation achieves a new level of refinement for Silverton. Significant advancements in the company’s design engineering and manufacturing processes, combined with our historic reputation for value, will ensure our success at a new competitive level.”
The Ovation is one of the first production boats in the world to employ triple 500 Volvo IPS engines. The engine’s geometry allows it to be positioned much farther aft, resulting in a 30-inch savings in usable space. Triple 600 Volvo IPS engines are available as an option. Volvo’s standard joystick offers one-handed maneuverability at any speed and unmatched docking capabilities. The underwater exhaust system eliminates diesel fumes, soot, and smoke while it significantly dampens noise.
Sheltered by an extended overhang, the large cockpit features an optional hydraulic davit or hydraulic swim-platform. A full bench-seat is standard, and convenient engine-room access is located in the cockpit sole. A telescoping three-piece sliding glass-door system, with polished stainless steel frame, opens to a 4-ft. main-cabin entrance.
Her cherry-wood main cabin features portside incliners (separated by a table with optional wine chiller) and a starboardside curved upholstered lounge. The salon, galley and dinette are raised, offering guests a 360° panoramic view through the yacht’s full-width windshield, sliding cockpit doors, and screened side windows. Bathed in natural light, the main cabin is ideal for entertaining.
Below decks, a spacious forward VIP stateroom is enriched by warm cherry wood. A walkaround queen-sized bed and port and starboard cedar-lined wardrobes are the principal amenities of this luxurious space. Following a split-head arrangement, the portside enclosed shower is privately accessed from the VIP or the third stateroom. A starboard-side vanity and commode are accessed from the passageway for use as a day head, or entered privately from the VIP stateroom.
The portside third stateroom’s queen-sized berth is hinged, enabling it to fold outboard, revealing a step-down compartment for separate washer and dryer units. This stateroom’s amenities include a cedar-lined wardrobe.
The largest in its class, the spacious full-beam master stateroom features a walkaround queen-sized bed, flanked by cherry nightstands, two cedar-lined wardrobes, and a private head.
Under a standard hardtop, the imposing bridge accommodates as many as 15 guests, with two side lounges and a full-beam settee aft. Positioned for maximum visibility, the forward helm includes helmsman and companion chairs. A standard “light” galley features a wetbar and sink, with available options such as a refrigerator, icemaker, electric grill, and flatscreen TV.
The 52 Ovation is scheduled to be christened in the late summer of 2007.
