Copper Coat is now protecting over 70,000 vessels Worldwide and is the only anti-foul proven to resist marine growth for ten years and more.

When compared to the cost and hassle of having to lift and re-paint such a boat with conventional anti-foul every season for the next ten years or more (a figure of several thousand Pounds) a once-only treatment of Copper Coat provides unbeatable value for money.

An independent review by Practical Boat Owner concluded ” I personally wouldn’t use any other anti-fouling, The savings over the minimum 10 year period of its life expectancy will be quite considerable.”

The Benefits of Coppercoat

Unbeatable Longevity

Unlike regular coatings, hardwearing Coppercoat remains effective for many seasons. A single treatment of Coppercoat is proven to remain effective for at least ten years. Many treatments are performing well after 20 seasons and more!

Cost Effective Treatment

By not having to lift and repaint every year the average boat owner saves thousands over the lifetime of the treatment.

Extra Efficiency

The combination of high copper content and a unique blend of biocides ensures ultra low growth rates and a clean hull. Motorboat owners report increased speed at lower revs, meaning a lower rate of fuel consumption and less engine wear. Professional racers can burnish the surface for a full racing finish.

GRP Osmosis Protection

Coppercoat is based upon an inherently waterproof epoxy resin. As such, the application of Coppercoat helps to protect GRP vessels against osmotic attack.

Low Maintenance

No more expensive and unpleasant annual stripping and repainting of hulls. Simply hose down the hull at regular intervals (commonly once a year), to remove any build up of slime.

Environmentally Responsible

Being epoxy based Coppercoat is classified as non-eroding and causes less harm to the environment than conventional anti-foul paints. The complete treatment has been tested and approved by the Health and Safety Executive, in compliance with UK and EU law. Holding HSE Certificate Number 7532 our anti-fouling is fully approved for use by both professional tradesmen and the general public. Furthermore, Coppercoat fully complies with current (2001) International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Resolution MEPC.102(48).

COVID 19 UPDATE 2

covid-header.png

APRIL 2020

I hope that you, our valued customers, are keeping safe as we face what is, without doubt, a global crisis that is unprecedented in modern times.

In order to follow the continuing directives laid out by the Government and the British Marine Federation we will be extending the restrictions at Port Penrhyn up to May 8th  which will include the following:-

  • We have banned all general public access to the Port.

  • There is access for boat owners, both afloat and ashore, but we ask you to take into consideration the Government’s directives relating to essential journeys and their request for people to stay at home. (Access Gate Code is the same)

  • We can now offer Lift and Launches for those who want, under strict social distancing arrangements to be followed to the letter. However, for those wishing to launch we again ask you to consider the following :-

    • The restrictions to essential travel as outlined by the Government

    • The RNLI, RYA & Coastguard guidance not to undertake any non-essential leisure boating activity

    • Also, please note the following berthing locations in North Wales  are currently closed or operating under restrictive practices:-

      • Holyhead Sailing Club

      • Port Dinorwic Marina

      • Victoria Dock Caernarfon

      • Conwy Marina and more

In order to protect our people and help limit the deadly spread of the COVID-19 virus and following the Governments 3 week extension of the lockdown last week,  we ask you all to follow the guidance issued. The health and welfare of our customers, work colleagues are fundamental factors in all our decision-making and your protection remains our highest priority.

As this is a rapidly changing situation, we don’t know for how long the restrictions at Port Penrhyn and to the wider marine facilities in North Wales will be effected. However, we will continue to follow the advice of our Government as well as British Marine Federation and Public Health Wales.

Please keep visiting our website and social media platforms for any updates on the situation.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves, your loved ones, your colleagues and your communities, and we look forward to seeing you all when the time is right.

Thank you for your understanding.

Dear Customer

I hope that you all are keeping safe as we face what is, without doubt, a global crisis that is unprecedented in modern times.

We have kept the Port open and fully functioning as long as possible, and we would prefer to be able to continue to operate normally. However we do not live in normal times at present, and after careful assessment of all our options,  we feel that we must do the right thing for the greater good.

In order to protect Customers, Staff and Suppliers and help limit the deadly spread of the COVID-19 virus, and following the Prime Minister’s speech on Monday evening, we have decided to temporarily close the Port to the General Public and ask Boat Owners to keep away as well.  We Appreciate those boat owners with boats afloat may wish to periodically check on them but please keep this brief and to a minimum.

Note we have : Cancelled all Launches/Lifts up to the 20th April 2020

We have not taken such a decision lightly, but we do believe that in this emergency situation, we need to do our bit as individuals, as a company and a community to protect each other.

As this is a rapidly changing situation, we don’t know for how long the Port will be operating with limited access and operations. However, we will continue to follow the advice of our Governments as well as Public Health Wales. Please keep in touch for updates or check out our Website at www.dickies.co.uk

In the meantime, take care of yourselves, your loved ones, your colleagues and your communities, and we look forward to seeing you all when the time is right.
