Our Roots
In 2002 Peter Dickie decided to expand his already well established Office Network to the South Coast. Brighton was chosen for its handy location and the availability for an extensive Sales Pontoon along with a modern Sales Office. I was excited to see the job of 'Brighton Office Manager' advertised on the BMIF website and was determined to secure this role. Having worked in the boat sales industry for 8 years previously, I had come to admire the sturdy seaworthy cruisers, and sports boats Beneteau produce and Dickies represent. Due to my passion and belief, I secured the Job and the Dickies Brighton office was born. The next step was to bring in a team of hand picked staff who could share my vision of offering high quality customer service combined with superb product knowledge.

Brighton Staff

Russell Heath - Manager
I grew up spending my weekends on my Grandads fishing boat in Rye. Ever since then I have always been involved with boats. I had my own yacht, which I sailed around the Med, before settling down to a full time job running a Marine Workshop in Newhaven. I moved to Brighton to work for Dickies and never looked back. I'm very happy working for a Family Company within a close knit team.

Jan Heaven - Operations Manager
Jan moved down to Brighton after leaving her job in the City. Originally employed as an administrator, it became apparent very quickly that Jan had the skills and confidence to implement the necessary systems for the smooth running of an often hectic office. After working for Dickies of Brighton for over 4 years, Jan's product knowledge of the Beneteau's Power Range is often enough to embarrass any experienced boat salesperson.

Nick Smith - Chief Engineer
Nick worked with me in Newhaven and I have never met such a hard worker, with such a broad range of skills. He was the first person who came to work with me at Dickies. Nick now oversees all installations and commissioning procedures. Nick probably has the best technical knowledge of the Beneteau Power Range in the country.

Chris Philps - Engineer
Chris is well known along the South Coast, having been an avid boat owner all his life, his boat handling and navigational skills are legendary. Chris runs the "Meridian Cruising Club" which made him the perfect choice to start up our newly founded "Beneteau Power Cruising Club". He now runs four cruises a year for our customers to enjoy.

Dave Killick - Boat Preparation
For such a young lad David has a slightly disturbing passion for power boats. David's attention to detail borders on the obsessive. All our new boats are abraded, primed and anti fouled to David's very high standards. When the boat is completed it is David, then valets them ready for handover.

• Display the Largest collection of the Beneteau Power Range in the country on our sales pontoon
• Customer support with our mobile technicians
• Listen to our customers wants and needs and advise where necessary
• Offer attractive deals
• Arrange Sea trials for all potential customers
• Assist in specifying sensible cost effective extras for new boats
• Carry out all installations and commissioning in house with our experienced engineers
• Provide a comprehensive handover procedure with all new boats 1 or 2 days
• Make sure all customers have the after sales service expected with a high value technical product
• Enjoy our Jobs!
• Keep up to date wih all developments within the marine industry
