Commercial Port

Commercial Port with Sailboat

PORT OVERVIEW

Port Penrhyn is ideally situated towards the North Eastern entrance to the Menai Straits, close to the small cathedral City of Bangor. Sheltered by the Isle of Anglesey it provides a safe haven and close access to the North West commercial network.

Dickies International as the managing agent is developing the commercial operations of Port Penrhyn with the expected growth in coastal shipping in the future.

North Wales and the North West of England is renowned for its industry which has traditionally used the Port of Liverpool for the vast majority of raw material imports/exports. The expansion of Port Penrhyn aims to bring healthy competition to the benefit of industry and open up alternative means of transporting Welsh natural resources to large industrial centres.

In recent years the Port has seen a rise in commercial shipments with Mussel Dredging companies and Importers of sand based on-site, regularly exporting of materials from the local Welsh Slate quarries, and used as a hub for Marine Commercial Contractors feeding projects throughout the North West. Most recent projects include the Gwynt y Môr Windfarm and construction of the Moelfre Lifeboat Station.

Competitive prices mixed with unique features including 215m of working quayside and a Grid to dry out commercial vessels, makes Port Penrhyn an attractive location.
